My First Day At School: Nkwanta South Municipal Assembly and GES welcome students back to school. The Nkwanta South Municipal Assembly and the Municipal education directorate welcome all students in the Municipality back to school as school reopens today 10th January 2023.
Mr. Bright K Lenwah ,the Municipal Chief Executive for Nkwanta South together with Mr Jonathan Kosinah, the Municipal Education Director in a visit to some schools in the Municipality recorded a low turn out of students whilst about ninety percent (90%)of the teachers were present and ready to teach.
Presenting some learning materials such as ‘my first copy books’, pencils, erasers, slates etc to the new beginners and the primary one (P1) pupils, Hon Bright K Lenwah MCE, urged them all to learn hard and take their education very serious in order for them to become prominent people in the society through education.
He also exhorted the teachers to give out their best by impacting the necessary knowledge they acquired into the pupils since the children are the reason they have been sent there .
Mr Jonathan Kosinah the Municipal Education Director also rendered his displeasure about the attendance of the pupils. But he commended the teachers for attending in their numbers.
He however urged all Headteachers and their teachers to up their games by educating the parents on the need to bring their wards to school especially those who are of school age but still at home without attending school.
He further called on parents and guidance to allow their wards come to school because classes have started which they wouldn’t leave anyone behind.

The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon Bright K Lenwah and Mr Jonathan Kosinah Municipal Education Director were both accompanied by Mr. Mawena Damson, administration and finance officer for GES Nkwanta and Mr. Joseph Abugre, Municipal coordinating Director for Nkwanta South Municipal Assembly and many more.
The headteacher of Shiare Basic school Mr Sovor Thomas thanked the leaders for their visit and labeled some of the challenges they are facing in the school.
